Sunday, October 20: Mountain Laurel Moravian Fellowship will continue to worship at Transou Church- (click directions tab for directions). We remain in prayer for the transition our friends  are experiencing as Transou United Methodist Church closes on Sunday, October 27. The current membership is involved in purchasing the church building to reopen as Transou Community Church. We express our profound gratitude to the Transou Community for their willingness to continue to share their church building facility with MLMF.

Blessings and Peace,

Welcome to Mountain Laurel Moravian Fellowship, a community of faith in the North Carolina mountain counties of Ashe and Alleghany, who share a common bond of love for Jesus Christ, a fellowship of family and friends, and an appreciation for traditions — both old and new — of the Moravian Church.

Our church family seeks to be a caring and supportive part of the Body of Christ. We strive to provide opportunities to:

  • Worship and glorify God.
  • Develop lasting and nurturing friendships.
  • Seek service opportunities in the mountain communities through which we can actively place our faith in action.

If you are seeking a worship home, are visiting or passing through these beautiful highlands, come visit us to be welcomed, inspired, and encouraged.

The Rev. Ted Burcaw, an ordained minister with the Moravian Church has been the worship leader at Mountain Laurel Fellowship since 2010. (Click on “Meet Our Pastor”) for more of his background.

Our worship incorporates traditional Moravian liturgy and music, silent reflection and prayer, and preaching which seeks to proclaim the Gospel and the connection of the Gospel to life’s joys and challenges.

Mountain Laurel Moravian Fellowship meets at Transou United Methodist Church in Laurel Springs every Sunday at 11.
